We should get them busy with activities to capture their attentiveness and energy.

When we were young, our parents made sure to take us out to the park or playground in the evening to release all our energy. And the minute we got home, we would be sound asleep!

Some children are diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD), and some are simply hyperactive. We just need to figure out how to deal with each child differently.

Miss Ebtehal Shaldoom at Future Experts Kindergarten shares an example:

I have a very hyperactive child named *Sameer in my KG3 class. He is always up to something and always needs something to do. He cannot sit in one place idle doing nothing. We constantly need activities for him and I make sure he is always busy with something to make sure his energy is channeled out in the right direction.

But when you have an entire class, it’s not always that easy to divert all your energy and focus on that one hyperactive child. So what I started doing was involving him in multiple tasks. Whatever I’m doing, I make him do it with me – I’ve made him kind of my right hand. Now, he’s always busy and working productively.

Sameer thoroughly enjoys having something to do and he’s like my little assistant – so it works for everyone!

Children can be hyperactive at this age and that’s perfectly normal. Every other mother in fact thinks her child is hyperactive – that’s common. They just need to vent out their energies.

Other methods which can be used are behavior therapy, counseling, simply talking to them about their feelings, helping them relax, etc.

*Names have been changed to protect the identity of the subject.

Miss Amal Al Saab at Future Experts Kindergarten shares the story of a somewhat traumatized child… There was once a boy named *Abdul Rahman in my KG 2 class

[1

post-496","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog
["GET
